Previously, the Cebu–Ho Chi Minh City direct route had already been put into operation, helping to position the Philippines as one of the Southeast Asian countries with the highest frequency of direct flights to Vietnam.

With the launch of this new route on December 2, Northern Vietnam’s tourism sector is expected to welcome a surge of visitors from the Philippines. From both Cebu and Manila, Visit Indochina has long focused on bringing a large number of travelers into Vietnam.

For years, Visit Indochina has identified the Philippines as one of its Top 10 international markets, with an extensive partner network across Cebu and Manila. General Manager Nguyen Son Thuy emphasized that this direct route will be a game-changer:

"At present, we are running eight dedicated Philippines-to-Vietnam tour packages, including the 4-day-4-night Hanoi – Sapa tour and the 5-day-4-night Hanoi – Sapa – Ha Long tour. The launch of the Cebu–Hanoi direct flight 2025 is a tremendous opportunity for Vietnam to welcome more travelers from the Philippines. We have long anticipated this new flight. Convenient connections combined with the natural beauty, culture, and people of Northern Vietnam will certainly drive strong growth in visitor numbers,” Mr. Thủy said.

To mark the event, he revealed that Visit Indochina is directing its teams to create exclusive travel packages with special care for Cebu-based travelers. With an already strong partner presence in Cebu, these dedicated packages will soon be introduced to meet the rising demand.

Vietnam Airlines announced that round-trip fares from Cebu to Hanoi will start from VND 4,393,000 (approximately PHP 9,682.17). With such competitive pricing, Cebuano travelers now have a more affordable chance to experience the charm of Hanoi.

This development positions Cebu as the latest hub for Vietnam Airlines in the Philippines, reinforcing its role as a strategic gateway for international tourism. Adding Hanoi to Cebu’s list of direct destinations is also expected to transform the island into a strategic transit point, not only for leisure travelers but also for businesses seeking international connections in the region.

For Cebuano residents and Filipino tourists, Hanoi offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and cuisine. The Vietnamese capital is famed for its charming Old Quarter, the tranquil Hoan Kiem Lake, and a vibrant street food scene that has captivated travelers from all over the world. With direct flights in place, exploring Hanoi’s cultural treasures has never been easier.

Meanwhile, Cebu remains a world-class resort destination with turquoise seas, white sandy beaches, and golden sunshine. Its signature experiences — from coral reef diving to swimming with whale sharks — continue to draw the interest of Vietnamese travelers eager for adventure.
