Vietnam Ranks Among Asia’s Top 3 Destinations for Repeat Visitors
Vietnam has once again ranked among the top three destinations in Asia with the highest share of repeat visitors in the first half of 2026, according to Agoda’s Repeat Visitor Ranking, released by the digital travel platform.

Notably, Da Nang climbed two places from the previous year to rank sixth among Asian cities with the highest rate of returning visitors. The ranking is based on booking data recorded on Agoda during the first six months of 2026.
According to Agoda, certain destinations have a strong appeal that encourages travelers to return multiple times whether to explore new places, revisit their favorite spots, or simply enjoy familiar experiences. Booking data shows that many travelers returned to their preferred destinations multiple times during the first half of this year.
In Vietnam, the five destinations with the highest rates of repeat visitors in the first six months of 2026 were Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Hanoi and Phu Quoc Island, respectively.
Among them, Vietnam’s two major cities both improved their rankings. Hanoi moved up two places, while Ho Chi Minh City climbed one place compared with the previous year. Sa Pa also recorded a notable increase, rising three places.
Sa Pa’s appeal is further reflected in travel activity data from Agoda. Sun World Fansipan Legend was the most-booked attraction on Agoda in Vietnam during the first six months of 2026.

Da Nang climbed two places to rank sixth among Asian cities with the highest rates of repeat visitors. According to Agoda, the city’s appeal lies in its beaches, reasonable travel costs and proximity to UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Hoi An.
Da Nang is also home to Ba Na Hills, known for its Golden Bridge, mountainous landscapes and a wide range of entertainment and recreational activities. These attractions offer visitors more experiences to discover, giving them additional reasons to return to Da Nang.

Vu Ngoc Lam, Country Director of Agoda Vietnam, said the results reflect the diverse range of experiences that destinations across Vietnam offer, from the vibrant atmosphere of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to the beaches of Da Nang and the mountainous landscapes of Sa Pa.
“Vietnam’s continued presence among Asia’s top three destinations for repeat visitors highlights the diversity of experiences travelers can enjoy across the country.
From the vibrant energy of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to the beaches of Da Nang and the mountainous landscapes of Sa Pa, each destination offers travelers new reasons to return”, said Vu Ngoc Lam.
According to him, Da Nang’s rise to sixth place among Asian cities with the highest rate of repeat visitors is an encouraging sign, demonstrating the city’s enduring appeal to travelers.
According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, in the first eight months of 2026, Vietnam welcomed 16 million international visitors and 113 million domestic tourists. Total tourism revenue reached approximately VND 781 trillion. Vietnam is increasingly emerging as one of the most attractive tourism destinations in the region and the world.
