About Cat Ba Island
Located 30 km from the center of Hai Phong city to the East, Cat Ba Archipelago consists of 367 islands with rich and diverse natural ecosystems with outstanding biological values such as primeval forests, limestone forests, coniferous forest, caves, mangroves, tidal flats, salt lakes, coral reefs and rare animals, have been recognized by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve. Here, Cat Ba Island, also known as Pearl Island, is the largest of 1,969 islands in Lan Ha Bay.

Only 2.5 to 3 hours from Hanoi via highway and ferry, Cat Ba is now more accessible than ever thanks to improved infrastructure. Travelers often combine it with other trending routes such as Hanoi – Tam Dao – Cat Ba or the classic Hanoi – Cat Ba journey.

Coming to this beautiful island, tourists can not only immerse in the cool water of the blue beaches, but also can explore the mysterious nature through the primeval forests on the island.
One of the newest highlights enhancing the Cat Ba experience is the Sun World Cat Ba Cable Car. This state-of-the-art transportation system connects Cat Hai Island with Cat Ba Town, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Gulf of Tonkin from above. It’s not only a scenic journey, but also an environmentally friendly, time-saving alternative that cuts travel time in half.
Cat Ba's Summer Highlight
On the night of May 30, 2025, Cat Ba officially launched its vibrant summer season with a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle – "Symphony of the Green Island," a high-tech water show blending art, extreme sports, fireworks, and live performance technology, all unfolding on the sea.

Covering over 50,000m² in Cat Ba’s central bay, the show is a flagship entertainment production by Sun Group, in collaboration with international event giants H2O Events and LaserVision.
Two Guinness World Records Set In Cat Ba
On May 21, during its rehearsal night, "Symphony of the Green Island" made history by setting not one, but two official Guinness World Records:
1. Individual Record: 43 backflips in one minute on a flyboard by Polish athlete Tomasz Kubik (H2O Team), breaking the previous record of 41.
2. Collective Record: The world’s largest synchronized jetski fireworks performance, with 20 jetskis moving in formation and launching fireworks in perfect harmony with music, lights, and laser effects.
These records marked the first time a performance on open water in Vietnam received Guinness certification, propelling Cat Ba onto the global entertainment map.
Unprecedented Performance Technology In Vietnam
Unlike anything seen in Vietnam before, this is not just a show – it's a mechanical symphony. Nearly 40 athletes from around the world simultaneously maneuver jetskis, flyboards, and jetsurfs in a show that is synchronized to the millisecond.
Jetskis form complex geometric formations across the sea surface, synchronized with pyro blasts.
Flyboards launch artists high into the air and dive with precision timed to music and lighting.
Jetsurfs add speed and creative transitions with high agility.

The show also integrates three fireworks technologies never before seen in Vietnam:
Underwater fireworks, bursting from beneath the sea.
Jellyfish-style aerial shells, hovering close to the water surface.
Color smoke pyrotechnics, shifting hues to match the show’s elemental themes.
Everything is controlled via real-time central programming connected to the athletes’ positioning systems. Every move, firework, and light beam is intentional, forming a precisely engineered sensory experience.

Inspired By Cat Ba’s Crane Fairy Legend & The Five Elements
"Symphony of the Green Island" tells a wordless yet powerful story inspired by Eastern philosophy and local legends. The narrative unfolds through the lens of the Five Elements (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) and the mythical Cranefairy of Cat Ba.
Each segment uses music, movement, and lighting to express an element:
Wood: Emerald-green light evokes the island’s lush forest.
Fire: Red jetskis blaze through darkness.
Metal: Circular formations showcase harmony and precision.
Water: Artists glide across glowing tides.
Earth: Golden hues and grounded rhythms bring the finale.
The Crane Fairy's journey unites sea and sky in a symbolic dance that leaves audiences mesmerized.
Beyond A Show: Cat Ba's Complete Entertainment Ecosystem
Located right next to the venue is a complete entertainment hub: food streets, night markets (like Vui-Fest), acoustic music corners, local street food, and traditional games. After the show, visitors can stroll along the bay, indulge in Hai Phong - style crab rolls, spicy sausage, or "banh da cua", surrounded by festive lights and music.

"Symphony of the Green Island" is held every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 8:00 PM, running until early September 2025.
With unmatched scale, creativity, and cultural depth, this show is set to become a must-see highlight of Vietnamese summer tourism, putting Cat Ba on the map as the new leading destination in the region.
