A group of travelers from Myanmar has recently concluded a memorable journey through Vietnam’s central heritage corridor, exploring Da Nang, Hue, Ba Na Hills, and Hoi An.

The travelers expressed strong admiration for Vietnam’s cultural depth and grandeur, describing the experience as an impressive encounter with a nation rich in history and heritage.
During the 5-day, 4-night itinerary, the group was guided through key historical landmarks in Hue, including the Imperial City (Dai Noi), Thien Mu Pagoda, An Dinh Palace, and Khai Dinh Tomb. These iconic sites, closely associated with the Nguyen Dynasty, continue to attract international visitors due to their distinctive imperial architecture and long-standing cultural significance.

In addition to sightseeing, the delegation experienced a cyclo tour through central Hue, visited Dong Ba Market, and enjoyed an evening dragon boat cruise along the Perfume River.
Among Southeast Asian source markets, Myanmar travelers are particularly interested in cultural immersion, local lifestyle experiences, and traditional cuisine. During their stay in Hue, many participants sampled regional specialties and gained insights into daily life in central Vietnam.

Departing Hue, the group continued to Hoi An to explore the Bay Mau Coconut Forest. Activities such as basket boat rowing, ecosystem discovery, and interaction with local residents received enthusiastic engagement from the delegation. The journey then continued with an overnight stay at Ba Na Hills before concluding in Da Nang.

In recent years, Myanmar has been identified as a promising source market for Vietnam’s tourism industry, driven by its large population, growing outbound travel demand, and convenient intra-regional connectivity within Southeast Asia.
In particular, Myanmar travelers tend to prefer short-haul itineraries that are cost-efficient and combine relaxation with cultural experiences. Recognizing this potential, Visit Indochina has been actively strengthening market engagement and partnerships to welcome more Myanmar travelers to Vietnam.
Most recently, Visit Indochina served as a key sponsor of a tourism promotion event organized by the Myanmar Tourism Federation. At the event, Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of Visit Indochina, presented an overview of Vietnam’s tourism landscape before H.E. U Maung Myint - Union Minister of Hotels, Tourism and Culture.
The event was also attended by senior representatives including U Myo Thant - Secretary-General of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI); U Yan Win - Chairman of the Myanmar Tourism Federation (MTF) - Kyaw Bohne Naing - Chairman of the Myanmar Tourism Association; and U Kyaw Win Tun - Chairman of the Aviation Committee under UMTA, along with around 200 travel companies.
The initiative contributed to expanding partnership networks, strengthening connections with international travel businesses, and promoting two-way tourism flows between Myanmar and Vietnam.
