As part of an academic exchange and international cooperation program, a delegation from Khon Kaen University (Thailand), in collaboration with Eastern International University (Vietnam), visited and worked with Da Nang Port.

During the session, representatives of Da Nang Port introduced the port’s operational scale, handling capacity, and development strategy toward 2030.
As one of the key logistics gateways in Central Vietnam, Da Nang Port is continuously modernizing its infrastructure, expanding services, and enhancing its competitiveness to meet the growing demands of international trade.

Directly witnessing the modern infrastructure and advanced operational systems at one of Vietnam’s largest ports, many members of the delegation expressed their impression at both the rapid development of Da Nang and the growth of Vietnam’s economy.

The combination of modern infrastructure, high quality of life, and strategic location has positioned Da Nang as an attractive destination for academic exchange, research activities, and international cooperation.
Representatives from the universities and Da Nang Port also discussed potential collaboration opportunities in training and internship programs. The participating institutions expressed their intention to expand opportunities for students to undertake internships and gain hands-on experience at Vietnamese seaports, contributing to stronger professional skills and a deeper understanding of the international logistics industry.

As a gesture of appreciation and to mark the beginning of future international cooperation, representatives of the two universities presented commemorative gifts to Da Nang Port.

Highlights from the delegation’s visit and working session with Da Nang Port
Da Nang Port is one of the key logistics gateways in Central Vietnam, strategically positioned along the East–West Economic Corridor connecting Vietnam with Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. The port system includes Tien Sa Port and Song Han Port, with Tien Sa recognized as a modern deep-water port capable of handling vessels of up to 70,000 DWT.
Handling millions of tons of cargo annually, Da Nang Port plays an important role in regional and international trade while also welcoming international cruise ships. To further expand maritime connectivity, Vietnam is developing the Lien Chieu International Port project at the foot of Hai Van Pass, expected to become one of the region’s most modern seaports.
