Over the past few days, Tien Sa Port has been bustling with activity as diplomatic delegations, government officials, military representatives and members of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City have visited the USS George Washington, currently anchored in Da Nang Bay.

At the port's arrival area, Visit Indochina's fleet of vehicles and team of professional tour guides have been on standby to welcome crew members coming ashore and accompany them on curated experiences across Da Nang.

According to Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of Visit Indochina, the company worked closely with the tourism authorities, security agencies and logistics partners well before the arrival of USS George Washington to prepare for the visit.

Based on its proven operational capability and extensive experience in managing large-scale delegations, Visit Indochina was entrusted with organising and operating the sightseeing programmes for the sailors during their stay in Da Nang.

"We regard this as an important opportunity to demonstrate our expertise in logistics, destination management and tour operations. Our team developed detailed operational plans, conducted site inspections and carefully designed itineraries for the U.S. delegation.

We also organised comprehensive training programmes, selected experienced drivers and tour guides and assembled a dedicated transportation team. Particular attention was given to choosing guides with strong communication skills and a deep understanding of American culture. Throughout the visit, Visit Indochina's vehicles have remained on standby at Tien Sa Port, ready to transport sailors to destinations across Da Nang", Mr. Thuy said.

Although the naval vessels will remain in Da Nang until 5 August, Visit Indochina has already been operating sightseeing programmes smoothly and professionally. The tours have been met with enthusiasm, excitement and positive feedback from the sailors of USS George Washington.

U.S. Aircraft Carrier with 6,000 Sailors Visits Da Nang

With the approval of the Government of Vietnam, a U.S. Navy task group arrived at Tien Sa Port, Da Nang, on 30 July. The group comprises the aircraft carrier USS George Washington, the guided-missile cruiser USS Robert Smalls (CG-62) and the guided-missile destroyer USS Shoup (DDG-86). The goodwill visit runs from 30 July to 5 August.

This marks the fourth official visit by a U.S. aircraft carrier to Vietnam, following previous visits in 2018, 2020 and 2023.

A welcoming ceremony was held at Tien Sa Port on 30 July, attended by representatives from Vietnam's Ministry of National Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs and other relevant agencies.

The visit contributes to maintaining and strengthening Vietnam–United States relations in line with the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace, Cooperation and Sustainable Development between the two countries.

The event also reaffirms Vietnam's capability in providing logistics and technical support for foreign naval visits while promoting the country's image, people and hospitality to the international community.
