Welcomes 228 Guests from The 5-star Cruise Costa Serena for a Phu Quoc Tour

The 5-star cruise Costa Serena (Italian nationality), carrying 3,500 guests from Thailand, China, and other countries, arrived in Phu Quoc for sightseeing and tourism. Among them, 228 guests were from Visit Indochina.


Around 8 a.m. on February 20, the giant cruise ship Costa Serena docked at the Phu Quoc tourism port, marking the beginning of the tour to some of the top tourist attractions at Sun World.

To show their hospitality, the city of Phu Quoc welcomed the guests with a music and lion dance performance.


Representatives from Visit Indochina greeted the group at the pier and took them to visit several notable spots such as the Sunset Bridge, the cable car to Hon Thom, and the Grand World Phu Quoc ecosystem.

In the afternoon of February 20, the group will return to the Costa Serena and continue to other tourist destinations.

The Department of Tourism of Kien Giang has stated that Phu Quoc benefits from its beautiful coastal and forest landscapes, crystal-clear waters, a 30-day visa exemption, and particularly the newly operational international passenger port in Phu Quoc, which has provided a strong boost to the development of cruise tourism.

In 2024, Kien Giang is expected to welcome around 130,000 Chinese tourists, along with more than 25,000 visitors from Thailand.

Notably, in just 7 days (from February 14 to 20), Phu Quoc welcomed 3 luxury 5-star cruise ships, bringing 9,000 guests from Thailand, China, India, Germany, Spain, and other countries for sightseeing and tourism.

Mr. Bui Quoc Thai, Director of the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, mentioned that the continuous arrival of international cruise ships in Phu Quoc is a positive sign at the start of the year. The local government will continue to promote and market tourism to international markets such as Thailand, China, India, and other countries to sustainably and long-term exploit this highly potential cruise tourism sector.
