Visit Indochina Brings Philippine Social Welfare Delegation to Hope Village Da Nang

As part of their Central Vietnam tour in December, a delegation from the Philippines experienced an emotional and meaningful visit to Hope Village Da Nang, sharing heartfelt moments with children in special circumstances.

Visit Indochina recently combined a Central Vietnam sightseeing program with a community visit, bringing Philippine guests to meet and interact with children who are being cared for and educated at Hope Village in Da Nang City.

Hope Village, officially known as the Da Nang Center for the Care and Education of Disadvantaged Children, was established in 1993. The center provides long-term care, education, and vocational training for orphaned children, children with hearing impairments, and those from particularly difficult backgrounds in Da Nang and the former Quang Nam area.

Over the years, Hope Village has become a destination of compassion and solidarity, welcoming both domestic and international visitors who wish to share warmth and support with vulnerable communities. With this spirit in mind, Visit Indochina’s team designed a dedicated meeting program, allowing Philippine guests to engage directly with the children at the center.

Through simple gestures and shared activities, the Philippine delegation engages closely with children at Hope Village Da Nang, highlighting the power of empathy and cross-cultural connection.

The visitors are professionals working in social welfare and community development, representing the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines (ALSWDOPI)—an organization focused on supporting disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. During their visit, the delegation spoke with the children and learned firsthand about their daily lives and aspirations.

Spending several hours at Hope Village, the group listened to representatives of the center share stories about their ongoing efforts to care for and nurture children in special circumstances. These efforts are supported by the commitment of Da Nang City authorities, along with the cooperation of various organizations dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged children.

Many children raised at Hope Village have gone on to attend university, build independent lives, and later return to support the center—mentoring and sponsoring younger children in need.

Laughter fills the hall as visitors and children join hands in a collective activity, turning the visit to Hope Village Da Nang into a memorable experience of unity and shared humanity.

During the visit, the Philippine delegation exchanged conversations, offered encouragement, and presented gifts brought from the Philippines to the children. They also shared heartfelt wishes and messages of hope for a brighter future for all members of Hope Village.
