After five years studying in Thailand, Mr. Yut (Vietnamese name: Ngô Văn Thanh), a familiar figure in tours welcoming Thai visitors to Vietnam through Visit Indochina, has recently graduated. His energetic story and image have left a strong impression in Thailand.
“Thanh’s story has deepened our admiration for the Vietnamese people—a community rich in cultural identity and united in spirit. We’re moved to see Thanh and all Vietnamese working together with such dedication to their homeland,” commented the Thai media on Mr. Yut, Ngô Văn Thành.

Mr. Yut appeared in several Thai education presses.
Representing A Dynamic, Knowledgeable Generation Of Vietnamese Youth
Thai tourists and businesses learned about Mr. Yut through various tourism promotion programs, trade fairs, and partnerships facilitating travel between Vietnam and Thailand. Many were impressed by the positive energy, simplicity, and agility of Ngô Văn Thanh, a Visit Indochina member.
Thai tourism and education websites like Eduzones, Gooduniversity, Thaiedu, and Edu-today published articles praising the Vietnamese tour guide from Visit Indochina. According to Thai media, Vietnam ranks among the world’s top travel destinations. In 2023, the country welcomed 12.6 million international tourists—exceeding the target by 57%—while domestic tourism saw 108 million visitors, 6% over the goal. Tourism revenue reached approximately VND 678 trillion, surpassing the annual target by 4.3%.
These results were attributed to Vietnam’s effective blend of cultural authenticity and unique tourism products, which captivate visitors.
In Vietnam’s tourism success, Thai media notes the contributions of dedicated individuals like Mr. Yut—each bringing Vietnam’s tourism reputation to new heights.
“Thanh represents a tourism company in Da Nang, serving the Thai market. This company is based in Da Nang, a city famous for its cleanliness, safety, dynamic beauty, and which Thai tourists particularly favor,” wrote the Thai press.
A Source Of Inspiration For Study And Global Ambition
Through his journey, Mr. Yut earned admiration in Thailand for his determination and resilience, having come from a modest background to pursue studies abroad. Originally from Quang Binh, a central Vietnamese province near Thailand, Yut dedicated a year to learning English before applying to the exchange program at Nakhon Phanom Rajabhat University. He was among the first 10 participants to join this prestigious program.
After arriving in Thailand, Yut studied Thai for another year before enrolling at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University. His total time studying in Thailand amounted to five years.
“Studying in Thailand was an incredible opportunity for me. Thailand and Vietnam have shared 40 years of diplomatic relations, with tourism booming for the past two decades, largely thanks to the TV drama ‘Hoi An – I Love You.’ This show led many Thai tourists to visit Hoi An,” Yut shared.
Years ago, Yut recognized the potential of the Thai market, when Vietnamese tours for Thai visitors lacked Thai-speaking guides. He committed himself to becoming fluent in Thai, aiming to serve this niche.
“I started working as a tour guide but was initially unsure of myself. Yet, with time, I became more confident,” Mr. Yut shared with the Thai media.
Reflecting on his studies, Mr. Yut noted that he found promising paths in Thailand, a country known for its tourism success. He expressed gratitude to Visit Indochina, which nurtured his passion and provided valuable opportunities.
“I’m no longer young, and being a tour guide may no longer suit me. I’m considering a career change, perhaps opening a coffee shop. I could also serve as a consultant for training programs aimed at Thai-speaking guides,” Mr. Yut said.
With the goal of becoming Vietnam’s leading international travel agency, Visit Indochina has continuously expanded its global reach over the years. To meet growing demand, Visit Indochina regularly recruits skilled guides with a deep understanding of local cultures and a desire to work in a professional tourism environment.According to Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of Visit Indochina, the company actively encourages and facilitates opportunities for guides to excel and pursue further education and exchange programs.“We build a seasoned team of guides with hands-on experience, practical training, and honed skills. We highly value each guide’s role, as each member represents both the face of our company and an ambassador of Vietnam. A guide is responsible for 80% of a tour’s success,” said Mr. Thuy.
