Visit Indochina And 70 Global Travel And Airline Companies Explore Phú Quốc Island

From December 4th to 6th, a delegation of 70 international travel agencies and airlines, accompanied by Visit Indochina’s leadership team, conducted an in-depth survey of the renowned attractions on the "Pearl Island" of Phú Quốc.

The fam trip, themed "Journey to the Paradise Island," was organized by SunGroup, featuring participation from prominent airlines such as Starlux, SCAT, Vietnam Airlines, Thai Vietjet, and leading online travel platforms like KKday, Trip.com, and Klook.

Visit Indochina’s delegation, led by CEO Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, attended as a strategic partner and one of SunGroup's top contributors, bringing a significant volume of visitors to their ecosystem.


Phú Quốc Emerging As The "Hawaii Of Asia"

During the three-day fam trip, the group experienced Sun Paradise Land’s ecosystem in Southern Phú Quốc, which features a unique combination of entertainment, leisure, and accommodation. These tourism products were praised as being "unlike anything else in the world."

The delegation was introduced to several world-class landmarks and performances.

Mr. Mehmet Kin, Vice President of Crystal Bay Group, remarked that while Phuket and Pattaya in Thailand were once iconic destinations, Phú Quốc now offers superior infrastructure and better services.

Similarly, Mr. Hong Jung Min, Managing Director of Hanatour Vietnam, commented that Phú Quốc holds immense potential. With the completion of its infrastructure, the island is destined to become the "Hawaii of the East."

Ms. Weichun Liu, CEO of the world-leading travel platform KKday, expressed her amazement at Phú Quốc’s development. She highlighted not only its infrastructure & hotels but also its vibrant shows, night markets, and interconnected ecosystem. "I see a place that is continuously growing," she said.

A Promising Future For Phú Quốc

Ms. Nguyen Vu Quynh Anh, CEO of Sun Hospitality Group under SunGroup, shared the company’s ambitious plans for Phú Quốc’s future.


Upcoming projects in the Sun Paradise Land ecosystem include the Rixos Phu Quoc—the first all-inclusive resort in Southeast Asia—and Aspira Tower. Additionally, the ultra-luxury Ritz Carlton Reserve and The Luxury Collection hotels will open on Hòn Thơm Island. Other projects, such as the Sun Hospital and a beachfront plaza at Bãi Đất Đỏ, are also underway.

Phú Quốc remains a hot destination for Taiwanese tourists, prompting Starlux Airlines to announce new charter flights to the island starting January 2025.

According to the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, Phú Quốc is expected to welcome nearly 6 million visitors this year, including close to one million international arrivals. This represents a 73.4% increase compared to 2023, far exceeding expectations. By the end of November, the island had recorded over 4,000 international flights—a growth of 175% compared to the same period last year.
