Choosing the year-end season to embark on a self-drive adventure across Vietnam, a group of travelers from Thailand had an unforgettable experience. Not only were they captivated by Vietnam's culture, but the professionalism of Visit Indochina’s tour guides also made the journey exceptional.
“It took a lot of time to plan this trip. However, just as we were about to cross the border into Vietnam, one of our cars broke down and couldn’t continue the journey.
We were genuinely disappointed, but thanks to the dedication of the tour guides, everything turned out perfectly,” shared a member of the Thai caravan group, expressing satisfaction with Visit Indochina’s team.
Always Prepared With A ‘plan B’
During the bustling year-end season, Vietnam’s weather—especially in the central region—is not always favorable for travel due to frequent storms from the East Sea. However, for many loyal customers of Visit Indochina, these conditions offered unique and thrilling experiences as they drove along Vietnam’s roads.
In October and November, Visit Indochina successfully welcomed two Thai caravan groups, totaling 39 guests. Preparing for these trips required meticulous planning by Visit Indochina and its partners. The caravan tour is a significant product line that Visit Indochina has been expertly organizing for the past 13 years.
Recently, an unexpected situation occurred with a 13-member Thai caravan group entering Vietnam. Due to the long journey, one of the cars broke down at the border, forcing its owner to pause the trip.
Initially disheartened, the traveler thought they would have to abandon the adventure. However, thanks to the professionalism of tour guides Thạch Sary and Vũ Ngọc Anh, the guest happily boarded Visit Indochina’s support vehicle to continue the journey.
A few days later, upon safely returning to Thailand with cherished memories, the Thai traveler expressed deep admiration for the dedicated and professional tour guides. They stated that without the enthusiastic support, their trip would have ended in disappointment.
A Road Trip Of Brave Warriors
The two Thai caravan groups traveling through Vietnam, from the central to southern regions, completed their journeys successfully. Iconic destinations such as Da Lat,Phu Quoc, Danang, Hoi An, Hue, and the majestic roads winding through the Central Highlands left profound impressions on the travelers.
“We were truly amazed by the energy and spirit of the participants. Many were older adults who drove thousands of kilometers but remained as energetic as brave warriors.
Notably, one group traveled in October amidst Vietnam’s Trà My storm, showcasing impressive driving skills.
Seeing these resilient and courageous travelers inspired us. At the end of the journey, everyone exchanged heartfelt hugs and promised to meet again,” said Mr. Thạch Sary, a caravan tour guide.
Nguyễn Sơn Thủy, Director of Visit Indochina, highlighted that caravan tours are a unique form of travel where participants self-drive vehicles while being guided and supported throughout. Unlike traditional tours with flights and transfers, caravan journeys often come with unexpected challenges.
In Vietnam, Visit Indochina is a preferred partner not only for its expedited immigration procedures but also for its thorough logistical arrangements.
“For every caravan group, in addition to the guests’ vehicles, we always provide a company support vehicle to handle any breakdowns and organize 24/7 assistance. This risk management principle ensures each journey runs smoothly and instills confidence in our clients,” said Mr. Thủy.
With 13 years of experience, caravan tours are now a standout strength of Visit Indochina. On average, the company welcomes 1–3 caravan groups exploring Vietnam each month. In December alone, two groups from Thailand and Malaysia are scheduled to visit.Currently, Visit Indochina is promoting a wide range of enticing caravan tours through its agents and partners. Among its key markets, Malaysia and Thailand show particular interest in self-drive tours to explore Vietnam's majestic landscapes.
