Thailand, Malaysia & The Philippines Lead 2025 TẾT Holiday Bookings With Visit Indochina

Statistics show that Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines were the top three markets booking tours to Vietnam through Visit Indochina during the Lunar New Year holiday, with Da Nang being the most popular destination.

According to Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, General Manager of Visit Indochina, the company welcomed nearly 600 tourists during Tet, mainly from its key markets, along with travelers from Europe, the U.S., India, and Taiwan.

"Our top three markets—Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines—continued to dominate the number of visitors choosing Vietnam for their Tet holiday. Despite the festive season, our team remained operational to ensure guests could explore and experience Vietnam’s top destinations. Being part of Vietnam’s most significant holiday left a lasting impression on all visitors," said Mr. Thuy.

Many tourists shared positive feedback, praising the professionalism of Visit Indochina’s team and the rich cultural experiences Vietnam has to offer.

According to Visit Indochina’s data, Da Nang and the Hanoi – Sapa route were the two most sought-after destinations among the company’s travelers. This trend aligns with the overall surge in Tet tourism across Vietnam.

As reported by the National Tourism Administration, Vietnam recorded approximately 12.5 million domestic trips during the nine-day Tet holiday, a 19% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Tourism revenue soared across major destinations, with Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Phu Quoc experiencing the most significant growth.

The Da Nang Department of Tourism reported over 500,000 visitors during Tet, a substantial increase from the previous year. The city’s tourism revenue reached VND 1.887 trillion, up 19% from 2024. Domestic flights increased by 70%, while international flights rose by 45%, generating remarkable revenue for the city.

Phu Quoc also had a highly successful Tet season, contributing nearly 70% of all tourist arrivals and revenue to Kien Giang province’s total of VND 1.886 trillion, a 50% increase compared to last year. The island welcomed a large number of international visitors, with high spending and extended stays. In the lead-up to Tet, Phu Quoc averaged 38-40 international flights per day.
