Sun PhuQuoc Airways opens New Routes from Bangkok to Phu Quoc

On August 8, the direct Phu Quoc–Bangkok route operated by Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA) was officially launched, bringing the airline’s total number of international routes to six.

The route operates one daily round trip, reducing travel time between the two major tourism hubs to approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes by direct flight.
Attractive Offers for Thai Travelers to Phu Quoc
According to the flight schedule, flight 9G701 departs from Phu Quoc International Airport at 10:35 and arrives at Suvarnabhumi Airport at 11:55. On the return leg, flight 9G702 departs Bangkok at 13:10 and arrives in Phu Quoc at 14:30.
To mark the launch, SPA is offering fares from VND 1,456,000 one way on the Phu Quoc–Bangkok route for travel during the period from August 1 to August 31, 2026.
Across its network, the airline is developing the “Resort in the Sky” model, targeting international five-star service standards.
Passengers can enjoy a range of amenities, including access to the Sun Executive Lounge, next-generation aircraft cabins, wireless in-flight entertainment, checked baggage and meals depending on their fare class.
In addition, travellers arriving in Phu Quoc can receive Sun World Hon Thom Cable Car tickets, access to the ervices across the Sun Group ecosystem.

Sun Signature members can also earn points from their flights and redeem them for a range of benefits.
The launch of the Bangkok route is expected to further strengthen Phu Quoc’s international connectivity. According to Phu Quoc International Airport, Bangkok–Phu Quoc routes recorded nearly 159,000 passengers in the first seven months of 2026, an increase of 57% year on year.
In 2026, SPA aims to expand its fleet to 32 aircraft and introduce the Airbus A330 into operation from September, thereby increasing its service capacity and expanding Phu Quoc’s connectivity with international markets.
Visit Indochina Co-Organizes FAM Trip to Showcase Phu Quoc
To mark the launch of the new direct route, Sun PhuQuoc Airways organized the Bangkok–Phu Quoc Inaugural Flight Trade & Media FAM Trip from August 8 to 11.
The programme brought together tourism representatives and media outlets from Thailand, providing an opportunity to experience Phu Quoc firsthand and discover the island’s latest tourism products.

As a key partner of Sun PhuQuoc Airways and tourism businesses on the island, Visit Indochina joined the programme as a strategic partner, supporting the event and its activities.
The FAM trip also provided Thai travel partners with an opportunity to gain first-hand insights into Phu Quoc’s tourism, hospitality and entertainment ecosystem, as well as its latest products and experiences.
As part of the programme, Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of Visit Indochina, introduced the company, its key services and new products and services planned for 2026–2027.

The presentation focused on MICE, field trips and leisure travel, with products tailored to the needs and preferences of the Thai market.
Through direct engagement among businesses, travel companies and media representatives, the programme helped enhance awareness of Phu Quoc’s tourism products while creating new opportunities for cooperation between Thai partners and Vietnamese tourism businesses.
The combination of the new direct Bangkok–Phu Quoc air route and destination promotion and product familiarization activities is expected to further stimulate Thai travel to Vietnam, particularly in the leisure, MICE and experiential travel segments.
This will provide Phu Quoc with further opportunities to strengthen its position as an international destination and expand its visitor base across Southeast Asia.
