Phú Quốc Ranked Among World’s Best Islands

Phú Quốc has once again secured a spot in the top islands of the world, ranking third consecutively in the 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards by Condé Nast Traveler, one of the most prestigious awards in global tourism.


Vietnam received recognition in two categories, ranking 15th among the top 20 travel destinations worldwide.

Notably, Phú Quốc surpassed other Southeast Asian islands such as Koh Samui, Phuket (Thailand), Langkawi, and Penang (Malaysia). This year, the island jumped significantly, scoring 95.36 points, up from 88.89 points last year, earning second place in Asia and among the world’s best islands.

The rankings reflect global readers' ratings based on various criteria like service quality, scenery, beaches, food, and hospitality.

Phú Quốc’s popularity continues to soar, receiving acclaim from the global travel community. In July, Travel+Leisure ranked it as the second most beautiful island in the world after the Maldives. Other accolades include recognition from DestinAsian, Lonely Planet, and Chosun Ilbo, further solidifying Phú Quốc's status as a premier global destination.

In addition to its natural beauty, Phú Quốc offers a range of unique entertainment experiences and world-class infrastructure. The island is home to premium resorts such as JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort, La Festa Phu Quoc - Curio Collection by Hilton, and New World Phu Quoc Resort, among others.


Phú Quốc is also a hub for Vietnamese tourism, with attractions such as the world’s longest three-wire cable car to Hon Thom, the Hon Bridge for the best sunset views, and international shows like Kiss of the Sea, blending eight forms of performance art.

With 720,000 international visitors in the first nine months of 2024, an increase of over 56% from the previous year, Phú Quốc continues to draw tourists from over 150 countries and territories. The number of direct flights is set to increase, and the island is expecting 100 international flights per week during the upcoming holiday season.
