Phu Quoc Welcomes Golden Destination Group President and 157 Malaysian Travel Experts

On July 30, the People's Committee of Kien Giang Province approved the Kien Giang Department of Tourism's plan to host a delegation of representatives from Malaysia's largest travel enterprises for a tourism survey in Phu Quoc.

Mr. Mita Lim - company chairman (on the right) will visit and survey Phu Quoc along with his associates.

The provincial leadership has requested that, in addition to the participating departments and agencies, a leader from Phu Quoc City be included to enhance the reception's prestige and demonstrate the locality's openness to feedback.

A Major Opportunity for Phu Quoc Tourism

Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of Visit Indochina Company, stated that in response to substantial investments in developing products that have revitalized Phu Quoc's tourism, Visit Indochina has intensified its presence in Malaysia and other countries over the past year.

Through partner meetings and international tourism fairs, the dynamic and captivating image of Phu Quoc has been showcased, garnering significant interest.

Visit Indochina has successfully connected with and been approved to organize the Phu Quoc trip for 157 representatives from major Malaysian travel sectors, including group tours, MICE, and cruise ship passengers.

Visit Indochina is honored to be trusted and entrusted with the responsibility of organizing the Company Trip for Ice Holiday (aka Golden Destination).

According to the plan submitted to the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, Visit Indochina will directly lead the delegation on a survey and working visit to Phu Quoc from August 9 to 14.

Notably, the delegation includes Mr. Mita, Chairman of Golden Destination Group, a leading Malaysian enterprise. Other members are also leaders from significant market segments such as cruise tourism, MICE, group tours, and individual travelers.

Increasing Convenience for Malaysian Visitors to Phu Quoc

Phu Quoc, Kien Giang Province, has emerged as one of Vietnam's rising destinations in recent years. With its beautiful landscapes, this pearl island in the East Sea at the southern tip of Vietnam's map is shining brightly thanks to open tourism policies.

Phu Quoc, with investments from the government and major companies like SunGroup and VinGroup, is gradually becoming an ideal destination with incredibly beautiful check-in spots.

Notably, many leading Vietnamese conglomerates have invested heavily, making Phu Quoc increasingly attractive. This destination has long been favored by Southeast Asian tourists, including those from Malaysia.

Statistics show that in the first six months of 2024, Malaysian tourists to Vietnam ranked fifth among the country's top 10 international markets, reaching 354,000 visits, a 9.3% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Currently, Air Asia operates scheduled direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Phu Quoc weekly. This route is one of the busiest among direct flights between Malaysia and Vietnam.
