On the morning of February 17 (the first day of the Lunar New Year – Year of the Horse), Da Nang celebrated the arrival of its first international visitors of the year in a festive atmosphere marking the start of Tet 2026.
Among the earliest arrivals at Da Nang International Airport was a delegation from the Philippines arranged by Visit Indochina’s partner network.
After being guided to the park on the southern bank of Dragon Bridge, the Philippines tourists enjoyed a vibrant Tet welcome program and immersive cultural experiences. The group received commemorative gifts and traditional lucky money (li xi) envelopes, joined in the symbolic “spring bud picking” ritual for good fortune, and checked in at colorful flower streets set up in the city center.

A series of traditional Tet cultural activities created a warm, friendly and memorable spring atmosphere for visitors, offering an authentic Tet experience in Vietnam.
The welcome activities not only enhanced the visitor experience during Vietnam’s Lunar New Year tourism season but also reaffirmed Da Nang’s image as a dynamic, hospitable and culturally rich destination at the start of the new year.

Mr. Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said organizing simultaneous welcome ceremonies at the airport gateway and in the city center demonstrates professionalism and proactiveness in destination management and service quality improvement.
In 2026, Da Nang’s tourism sector will continue to focus on effectively developing key international markets, refreshing tourism products, improving service standards and building a distinctive, culturally rich destination image.

City representatives present commemorative gifts and lucky money to Philippines visitors, officially welcoming them as Da Nang’s first lucky guests of Tet 2026.
With the orientation of “Touching the Original Essence,” the city aims to ensure that every visitor to Da Nang can experience genuine and emotionally resonant moments during their stay.
