Philippine Students Enjoy An Educational And Cultural Field Trip In Central Vietnam

A group of students and lecturers from Joji Ilagan International Schools (Philippines) recently completed a multi-day field trip across Da Nang, Hoi An and Hue, combining academic exchange, cultural immersion and destination exploration.
Unlike conventional sightseeing tours, many field trips organized by Philippine educational institutions today are designed as an extension of the academic curriculum, allowing students to learn through direct interaction with local culture, educational environments and communities.
In Da Nang, Visit Indochina arranged an academic exchange program with students from Duy Tan University, one of Vietnam’s leading private universities, known for its diverse student population and modern facilities.

During the exchange session, students from both countries discussed their learning environments, cultural differences and career opportunities within the growing ASEAN community. Traditional Vietnamese folk games organized by Duy Tan University also helped break language barriers and created a lively, engaging atmosphere for all participants.
Beyond the educational activities, the Philippine group explored some of Central Vietnam’s most iconic attractions, including Dragon Bridge, Son Tra Peninsula, Da Nang Museum, Hoi An Ancient Town and several heritage sites in Hue.
One of the most memorable experiences for the students was the cooking class at Tra Que Vegetable Village. Rather than simply tasting local cuisine, participants had the opportunity to learn about organic farming practices, select fresh ingredients and prepare traditional Central Vietnamese dishes themselves.

In Hoi An, a basket boat journey through the coconut forests of Cam Thanh offered students a unique glimpse into the riverside lifestyle of local communities. Meanwhile, a cyclo ride through the historic streets of Hue allowed them to experience the city’s relaxed pace and distinctive cultural atmosphere.
The well-organized and professionally managed program created unforgettable memories for these young visitors from the Philippines.
