According to Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of Visit Indochina, the company has recently organised a highly successful educational field trip that left a lasting impression on the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) students from the University of Mindanao (Philippines), led by Professor Rosalia T. Gabronino.

Impressed by the Warm Hospitality at LC Foods

Thanks to the well-coordinated, systematic and professional arrangements made by the Visit Indochina team, the doctoral students enjoyed a memorable stay in Ho Chi Minh City. The formal, warm and highly professional reception they received at every destination left them with a positive impression of Vietnam and its people.

Mr. Thuy said that Vietnam is increasingly becoming a destination for educational travel that combines academic exchange with study visits. Many universities in the region are now incorporating Vietnamese businesses, factories and educational institutions into the study programmes of their students and doctoral candidates.

The Educational Field Trip model has become a fast-growing segment with Visit Indochina welcoming numerous groups from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

For this practical study programme, Visit Indochina selected Ho Chi Minh City as the destination for the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) students from the University of Mindanao (Philippines), led by Professor Rosalia T. Gabronino.

Unlike a conventional sightseeing tour, the itinerary was designed around academic activities and firsthand experiences of Vietnam's business environment.

During the trip, the doctoral students visited LC Foods, one of Vietnam's large-scale food corporations with tens of thousands of employees and a nationwide network of warehouses and factories.

The company is also a major supplier of food products and convenience foods to supermarkets and shopping centres throughout Vietnam.

At the factory, the delegation was pleasantly surprised by the warm reception, including a dedicated meeting room, refreshments, fruit and beverages. They were especially impressed by the hospitality of Mr. Le Van Son, Standing Deputy General Director of LC Foods.

Despite his busy schedule, Mr. Son took the time to welcome the delegation, engage in discussions and provide an overview of LC Foods to the doctoral students.

The delegation also visited Novartis Vietnam to learn about the management model of a multinational company, corporate culture development and the transformation of the pharmaceutical industry in the context of digitalisation.

Academic Exchange at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance

During the trip, the delegation held an exchange session with lecturers and students of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF). The discussion focused on academic programmes, research activities and opportunities for cooperation between educational institutions in Vietnam and the Philippines.

The remaining time was devoted to exploring Ho Chi Minh City. The delegation visited Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon, Saigon Central Post Office, Ben Thanh Market and The Cafe Apartments, while also experiencing the city's cuisine, café culture and vibrant lifestyle.

Educational Field Trip is a segment with significant growth potential as more universities incorporate practical study visits into their academic programmes. With its diverse business ecosystem, dynamic investment environment and expanding network of universities engaged in international cooperation, Vietnam is becoming a preferred destination for many educational institutions across the region.
