National Tourism Year 2025 to Combine with Hue Festival

On December 31, in Hue City, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee held a press conference for the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025.

The National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 is a significant cultural, economic, social, and tourism event of national scale and international significance, combined with Hue Festival 2025. The event coincides with the 50th anniversary of Thua Thien Hue Province's liberation and celebrates Hue's elevation to a centrally-governed city.

Major Artistic Events to Launch Simultaneously in Hue in Early 2025

Activities within the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025 framework will focus on four main seasonal festivals: Spring Festival "Ancient Capital Spring"; Summer Festival "Illuminated Imperial City"; Autumn Festival "Hue in Autumn"; and Winter Festival "Winter in Hue," featuring over 170 national and provincial events.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and central agencies will organize 8 national-level activities. Thua Thien Hue Province will host 62 events (including 46 activities for the National Tourism Year and 16 activities within the Hue Festival 2025 framework).

Centrally-governed provinces and cities will organize 102 activities in response to the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025.

Among these activities, four key events include the Opening Ceremony of "National Tourism Year - Hue 2025" combined with a fireworks display celebrating the 50th liberation anniversary of Thua Thien Hue Province on March 25, 2025.

An international conference on cultural industries as a foundation for sustainable tourism development will be held on March 25, 2025.

A Culture-Tourism Festival and Vietnamese tourism, cuisine, and craft village showcase, connecting businesses for National Tourism Year - Hue 2025, is planned in European markets in June 2025, with the Closing Ceremony scheduled for late December 2025.

Additional activities include promoting National Tourism Year - Hue 2025 at EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan; domestic and international tourism marketing campaigns; International Food Festival; Chef Skills Competition; and an International Conference on Net Zero Tourism planned for July-August 2025.

Hue Expects to Welcome 5 Million Visitors in 2025

With this series of activities and events during the National Tourism Year and Hue Festival 2025, Hue anticipates attracting 4.8-5 million visitors, with international tourists accounting for 38-40% of total arrivals. Total tourism revenue is expected to reach approximately 10,800-11,200 billion VND.

This initiative aims to create a breakthrough for Hue's tourism in 2025, preparing for robust development based on its heritage as the Former Imperial Capital in the nation's new era.

As the former capital of the Nguyen Dynasty, Hue embodies national and world heritage values with 8 UNESCO-recognized World Heritage sites, 89 national monuments, and 3 special national monuments.

The city boasts hundreds of folk and royal court festivals, a rich and unique culinary culture, and stunning natural landscapes.

Furthermore, with its strategic political-economic position in the Central Key Economic Zone, serving as a gateway to the East-West Economic Corridor and a connection point on the "Central Heritage Road," Hue has become a favorite destination for domestic and international tourists, earning titles such as ASEAN City of Culture, National Green City, and ASEAN Clean Tourist City.
