An Indian group has recently completed a cross-country journey from Hanoi to the Mekong Delta, visiting popular destinations including Ninh Binh, Ha Long, Da Nang, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City.

The entire journey was organized by Visit Indochina, with its tour guides carefully designing the itinerary and providing dedicated attention to travelers from one of the company’s key markets.
The group began its journey in Hanoi, visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ba Dinh Square, Tran Quoc Pagoda and the Train Street.
From northern Vietnam, the travelers continued to Ninh Binh, Tam Coc and Ha Long Bay before flying to Da Nang, where they explored Hoi An and Ba Na Hills. The final leg of the journey took them to Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta.
What stands out is not simply the list of destinations, but how they were woven into a single journey - spanning history, culture, karst landscapes, coastal scenery, urban life and the waterways of the Mekong Delta.
Indian travelers discovering Vietnam’s diverse destinations and experiences
This is also one of Vietnam’s key advantages in attracting Indian travelers. Within a single trip, visitors can combine sightseeing, leisure, cultural experiences and shopping without having to travel across multiple countries.
Vietnam’s current visa policy also facilitates international travel, allowing visitors to stay for up to 90 days with either single or multiple entries, creating greater flexibility for international travelers.
Meanwhile, direct flight connections between India and Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City make it easier for travel businesses to design cross-country itineraries.
In recent years, Visit Indochina has welcomed a growing number of large Indian groups, many of whom opt for multi-destination itineraries rather than focusing on a single destination.
Recognizing this preference, Visit Indochina has developed a diverse range of multi-destination tours, connecting multiple locations within one journey to create richer travel experiences - an approach that has been highly appreciated by Indian travelers.
India is now one of the fastest-growing source markets for both Visit Indochina and Vietnam’s tourism industry.
In Q1 2026, Vietnam welcomed 242,656 Indian visitors, representing a 169.3% increase year-on-year. Notably, destination searches from the Indian market also rose significantly, with searches for Phu Quoc increasing by 47% and Da Nang by 42%.
Indian travelers have diverse travel interests, ranging from family holidays and leisure trips to MICE and destination weddings. They also show strong interest in experiences centered around culture, landscapes and destinations that showcase the distinctive character of Vietnam.
For this market, Vietnam’s appeal therefore lies not only in any single destination. Its greater advantage is the ability to create a multi-layered journey, where each region offers a different experience while remaining part of one seamless trip.
