Why Are Rice Production and Processing Study Tours in Vietnam Attracting International Visitors?
Vietnam is one of the world's leading exporters of rice and agricultural products.
With an agricultural civilisation shaped by thousands of years of wet-rice cultivation, Vietnamese farmers have developed extensive expertise and advanced techniques in rice production and processing, placing the country's rice industry among the world's leading producers.
According to statistics, the Philippines is one of the largest import markets for Vietnamese rice. During the first seven months of 2026, approximately 77% of the Philippines' rice imports came from Vietnam.

In recent years, Vietnam's rice industry has accelerated the adoption of technology, improved product quality and developed integrated production chains linked to processing and exports.
Notably, the Mekong Delta is implementing a programme to develop one million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice cultivation.
In Can Tho, Trung An Company is among the enterprises developing integrated production and processing chains for high-quality rice destined for export markets.
These developments provide valuable practical insights for Philippine farmers visiting Vietnam to explore its rice production processes, processing technologies and supply chain operations.
