Emerging from the ancient town of Hoi An with the ambition of “going against the current,” Visit Indochina has, after nearly 15 years of perseverance, become one of Vietnam’s most reputable international travel companies.

In recent years, the company has grown steadily, expanding its operations and earning numerous accolades from tourism associations, government ministries, and local authorities.

Most notably, the Vietnam Tourism Awards 2025 – known as the “Oscars of Vietnam’s tourism industry” – was presented to Visit Indochina by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey.

Visit Indochina is pleased to share excerpts of an exclusive interview with Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy – Founder and General Director of Visit Indochina – at the awards ceremony on September 27, 2025.

“Visit Indochina Would Not Be Here Without the Support of Many”

  • How did you feel when your company was honored with the Vietnam Tourism Award 2025, less than 15 years after its founding?

Over the past few years, Visit Indochina has received numerous commendations from provincial tourism departments as well as awards from the Vietnam Tourism Association. However, this marks the first time we have been recognized with the Vietnam Tourism Award by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism — a truly special milestone in the company’s development journey.

  • What does this award mean to your leadership team and staff?

We regard this as a prestigious national honor, one that brings immense pride to all tourism businesses. For Visit Indochina, it represents not only the recognition of our collective efforts over the years but also an invaluable source of encouragement and inspiration. It motivates us to continue striving, to preserve the values we’ve built, and to grow stronger in the future.

As a company that started in Central Vietnam and has endured nearly 15 years of steady development, we would never have succeeded without the support and collaboration of our many partners and stakeholders.

  • What does this award affirm about the credibility and status of Visit Indochina’s brand in the tourism market?

Receiving the Vietnam Tourism Awards is a clear testament to the credibility and strong brand position of Visit Indochina in the market. This recognition not only strengthens the trust of domestic travelers and partners but also expands opportunities for international collaboration. It lays a solid foundation for Visit Indochina to further establish its brand, enhance service quality, and contribute to the overall growth of Vietnam’s tourism industry.

Visit Indochina Has Only One Goal: Bringing Real Value

  • What were the key efforts that helped Visit Indochina achieve this distinction?

In truth, we never set out with the ambition of winning awards. Our sole objective has always been to deliver genuine value — to our partners, travelers, and the nationwide supplier network.

We work tirelessly to ensure every international visitor to Vietnam leaves with meaningful memories and lasting impressions. These efforts are reflected in thousands of positive reviews and genuine feedback from travelers on our fanpage, TripAdvisor, and Google – and this is what helped us earn this prestigious award.

  • What innovative approaches has Visit Indochina implemented to improve services and attract more visitors?

We have carried out a comprehensive digital transformation strategy across our entire operations – from international representative offices to tour management and operations in Vietnam. Our processes are now digitized and synchronized through advanced software and big data systems, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and efficiency.

In addition, we are exploring the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support our international partners and optimize tour operations in Vietnam. This strategic step enables us to personalize the travel experience, streamline management, and strengthen our competitive edge in a rapidly globalizing market.

  • How will the company continue to reinforce its position on Vietnam’s and the region’s tourism map?

We are expanding our network of representative offices in key markets such as the Philippines, India, and Indonesia, and will soon push into new markets in the Middle East and Arab countries.

This is a strategic move to broaden brand visibility, diversify our customer base, and affirm Visit Indochina’s role as a pioneer in promoting Vietnam’s tourism internationally.

We are also developing new products and services to cater to emerging market segments, including Muslim travelers and visitors from India, ensuring our offerings remain relevant and diverse.

Spreading the Beauty of Vietnam to the World

  • What is your ultimate aspiration in building an international travel company?

Vietnam still has many destinations of immense potential that are little known abroad — places like Ha Giang, Yen Bai, Hoa Binh, or unique attractions in the Mekong Delta.

As both an entrepreneur and a proud son of Vietnam, my greatest aspiration has always been to contribute more to my community, my country, and my people.

From Central Vietnam to the global stage, Visit Indochina grows stronger through solidarity, determination, and a shared vision to reach new horizons.

Through our work, Visit Indochina strives to bring Vietnam closer to the world with diverse experiential travel programs, allowing visitors to explore majestic nature, iconic landmarks, and the rich cultural heritage of the Vietnamese people. This will be a crucial direction to enrich Vietnam’s tourism offerings and strengthen our presence on the global stage.

  • If you could share one message with fellow tourism businesses, what would it be?

On behalf of Visit Indochina, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our domestic and international partners for their collaboration and unwavering support over the years; to local authorities and tourism departments across the country for their trust and assistance in promoting Vietnam tourism; and especially to Vietnamese embassies abroad for their invaluable contributions in global tourism promotion campaigns. This award is the result of collective effort, trust, and partnership – and we will always cherish it as the driving force behind our continued dedication.”
