This Songkran, the celebration took off differently. With a specially arranged charter flight from Bangkok to Da Nang, Visit Indochina brought a group of Thai travelers to welcome the New Year in a new destination — where tradition meets fresh experiences.

During this special occasion, the Thai group visiting Da Nang received a warm welcome from the tour guides of Visit Indochina.
To preserve the meaningful Thai New Year moments, the guides were present at Da Nang International Airport, personally delivering New Year greetings and best wishes to the guests.
The Songkran holiday tour in Da Nang was specially designed by Visit Indochina for Thai travelers, featuring an itinerary to explore famous attractions such as Ba Na Hills, Linh Ung Pagoda, and more. In addition, guests had the opportunity to experience Hoi An Ancient Town and enjoy renowned local specialties.
Sharing with the guides, members of the Thai group said they chose Da Nang to enjoy a peaceful Tet holiday away from their busy daily lives. Instead of staying at home, they appreciated having relaxing, stress-free time without work pressure in Central Vietnam.
The Thai charter group visiting Da Nang marks the beginning of a series of summer tours organized by Visit Indochina across Vietnam.

From April to August each year, Vietnam enters its vibrant summer tourism season, especially at coastal destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Ha Long, and Phu Quoc.
Thailand’s traditional Songkran Festival
Originating from traditional New Year transition rituals based on the lunar calendar, Songkran carries the meaning of purification, washing away bad luck and welcoming a fresh start.
Water has become the central symbol of the festival, appearing not only in Buddhist blessing rituals but also spreading into the streets through lively “water fights.”
During these days, major cities across Thailand such as Bangkok and Chiang Mai transform into festive spaces, where locals and tourists join water activities, celebrations, and cultural exchanges.

Beyond entertainment, Songkran still preserves its traditional depth through activities such as visiting temples, cleaning homes, and showing respect to elders.
In recent years, Songkran has not only been a domestic festival but has also become an international tourism “brand,” attracting millions of visitors each year.
At the same time, this is also a period when Thai people tend to travel abroad, especially to popular destinations in the region such as Vietnam.
