AirAsia has officially announced the launch of a new direct flight route connecting Bali (Indonesia) and Da Nang (Vietnam), with the inaugural flight scheduled for March 20, 2026. The route will operate four flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, significantly enhancing direct air connectivity between two of Southeast Asia’s major tourism markets.

A new route to explore Da Nang — where iconic landmarks like Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge welcome Indonesian travelers to Central Vietnam.
According to the airline’s plan, the new direct service will reduce travel time from Bali to Da Nang to just a few hours, replacing previous itineraries that required transit stops. Improved air connectivity is widely regarded as a key driver in expanding tourist flows from Indonesia to Central Vietnam, with Da Nang serving as a strategic gateway to nearby destinations such as Hoi An, Hue, and surrounding provinces.
Indonesia, with a population exceeding 270 million, is one of the world’s largest Muslim-majority countries. In 2025, outbound travel from Indonesia continued to rise, with millions of Indonesians traveling overseas each year. Vietnam has gradually emerged as an increasingly attractive destination within Southeast Asia thanks to its geographical proximity and convenient flight times.
In recent years, Da Nang has recorded steady growth in Indonesian arrivals, particularly among group travelers and family segments. The city benefits from a diverse system of religious facilities, a mild climate, and a growing number of Halal-certified restaurants and Muslim-friendly accommodations. Da Nang is also well known for its fresh seafood cuisine and tourism services tailored to the needs of Muslim travelers.
