Additionally, at the World Travel Awards held in Portugal on November 24, two large-scale tourist destinations in Quang Nam were also honored. The Hoiana Complex won the title of the "World's Best Integrated Resort," while Hoi An Memories Island was named the "World’s Leading Cultural and Entertainment Complex."

Tra Que is a famous vegetable village in Hoi An, resembling an oasis surrounded by the Co Co River, rice fields, and natural canals along the route from the beach to the city center of the ancient town.

The locals here have traditionally produced vegetables using manual cultivation methods with minimal chemical fertilizer use. What sets Tra Que apart is the gentle, distinct aroma of its herbs, which is more fragrant compared to those grown elsewhere.

Tra Que vegetables are grown on approximately 40 hectares, with each household allocated land based on population. The villagers divide the land into small plots, planting 40 different types of vegetables that supply restaurants and hotels in Da Nang and Hoi An. Tra Que vegetables are also sold in major supermarkets.

According to the Hoi An Center for Culture, Sports, and Broadcasting, before 2020, tourism in Tra Que Vegetable Village was organized by private businesses.

Since 2020, ticketing and investments have been handed over to a public agency in Hoi An. Currently, Tra Que attracts tens of thousands of visitors annually, with ticket sales ranging from 20,000 to 30,000 tickets per year.

Visitors to the village can tour the fields, experience planting vegetables alongside local residents, and enjoy drinks, cakes, and dishes made with locally sourced vegetables.

The history of Tra Que Vegetable Village dates back nearly 400 years, closely tied to the development of Hoi An's ancient town. Locals say that the Tra Que oasis was once a fertile area of alluvial deposits. Seeing the quality of the soil, they started planting vegetables, which proved to be of much better quality and yield than elsewhere.

Some households still use algae and decomposed organic matter from the Co Co River adjacent to the vegetable village as fertilizer. This may explain why Tra Que vegetables are considered more fragrant, crisp, and colorful than those grown in other regions of Quang Nam.

With Tra Que Vegetable Village joining the list of the “World’s Best Tourism Villages,” Hoi An gains further motivation to stay on course as a cultural, ecological, and environmentally friendly city. This recognition is a well-deserved reward for the collective efforts of both the community and the government in preserving the peaceful, rustic, and friendly image of Hoi An.

Hoi An continues to maintain high rankings in tourism-related awards. Experiences such as visiting traditional craft villages, farming with local farmers, or cycling through the rice fields on the outskirts of the city remain popular among both domestic and international tourists.
